Lets look at 4 important rules that you need to know before ever stepping foot in the sand.
1. You can not set the serve.
2. The block counts as one of your 3 hits.
3. Sets have to be clean. You might notice that in beach volleyball the set looks very clean and doesn't spin when it comes out of the hands of the setter. If you do an indoor set, you will get called for a double.
4. You can not open hand tip the ball. This might fly on the hard court but in beach volleyball you just can't do it.

Beach Volleyball Blog
Beach volleyball is much different than indoor volleyball. There aren't as many people to get in the way and there is no back row. It requires you to be good at all facets of volleyball not only one. You get tan while you play and it is just plain better than indoor. When you play sand volleyball you don't have to worry about knee pads or floor burn on your hips. If you enjoy outdoor volleyball then the beach volleyball blog is the place for you. Stay tuned for more beach volleyball rules
